Running for 6 editions from 2009-2015 (and set to return in 2017), Bristol Cycle Festival celebrated the DIY cycling culture in one of the UK’s most vibrant cities. I was involved in organising every edition of the festival until 2015, co-ordinating, copywriting, rustling up funding, running events and advising new event organisers how to make theirs happen.

Some highlights of previous editions included the first cycle speed dating sessions in the UK, well-received programmes of talks, regional premieres of films (with special guests), a bicycle ballet for visually impaired riders, and a fancy dress ride along the Portway, normally one of the busiest roads in Bristol.
